It is cold in Brooklyn and I have been bundling up for a while. My warm layer of choice is cashmere. It is thin enough that I don’t feel like Bibendum and warm enough that I am still toasty. The only problem is the cleaning part… I have to resist the urge to throw it in the washing machine because I don’t want to end up with tiny little cashmere sweaters. I have some good directions here but it would be nice to have a way to wash all of them at once instead of one or two at a time.
The nice thing about cashmere (and wool) is that it does not need to be cleaned after every wear. If you hang it on an appropriate hanger overnight to let it air, it can be good for another wear. Little dribbles can be spot cleaned. I do at least 4-5 wears before even thinking about washing.
