Lunch With Jimmy

Today while at lunch at one of my most favorite places, Penelope, who should walk in but Jimmy Fallon. He is such a cutie. He looks a lot like you would expect him to. Not really short or really tall. Kinda spastic. (Sorry, Jimmy) When he walked in I must have had a silly surprised look on my face because the person I was eating with asked if I knew someone who walked in. I said,”You probably know him too.” I just love NY moments like this.

I Will Give it a Try

I think I may have found a sweater pattern that would be worth the row counting and gauge swatch. Normally I wouldn’t even attempt a sweater because when I have in the past I don’t actually make it to the end. This one is so cute and versatile it looks like it is worth it. I will post pictures if I actually get to it.

Joost

Joost! Who wants Joost? I got your Joost right here. Leave a comment if you want an invite. Just remember to be generous and share with others. I recommend “Stella” from Comedy central. Very ridiculous and funny.

Beatutiful Day

The weather in Brooklyn is gorgeous! Today I went with a friend to the Botanic Gardens to take some flower pictures. Many things are not quite in full bloom and the cherry’s weren’t yet raining down leaves, but the weather was lovely and it was so nice to be surrounded by so much nature.

I Feel Pretty

Today I have on a very spring inspired linen skirt and crisp white button down shirt and I feel really pretty. So pretty that I even put on a necklace and some earrings. This is seriously my favorite outfit. It has been a while since I felt this nice. The last two years have been a little rough on me and my body. I have a thyroid disorder and I have gained a lot of weight getting it under control and I wasn’t a skinny mini to begin with. It is not a nice feeling. All my pretty clothes are too tight so for a while I was wearing “comfortable” clothes, which meant jeans and tee shirts almost all the time. Even to work. Not good. A few weeks ago I decided that I am what I am and I can’t not buy clothes in the hopes that I lose the weight. I have to buy clothes that make me feel nice just the way I am. Well mission accomplished, and not in the way the President means it. I certainly am not giving up on losing some voluptuousness but I am feeling much better about me now.

Craft Zombie

You know how real zombies (tee hee, real zombies) like to eat brains and that is about all they live for? Well I think I might be a craft zombie. Today on Bake and Shake I read about a new site and I now can’t think of anything else. What is this site that could render me a speechless pile of crafting drool? Martha Stewart crafts. Ok sure, it is just a way for Martha to sell us cute things like Monkey Party in a Box, but there are also cute things like this family tree photo frame. I LOVE new projects so I can’t waste anymore time on this post, I have to go glitter something before I die. Yes die. Crafts… must do crafts…

Parle Vous Picture?

Despite having taken three years of french in high school, I can’t speak, read or understand french. That doesn’t stop me from loving this site. The images are so compelling that I don’t mind that I can’t understand a word.

I Like the Birds

Via Bloesem I ran across Jen Garrido. Her oil paintings on wood remind me a little of Chinese brush paintings with color. The birds are especially darling. They are all such a wonderful mix of unexpected color and energy.
